Full Time School Psychologist (Maternity Replacement)

Position Overview:
The school psychologist is a member of the Student Support Department at ACS. As such they report directly to the President and/or Deputy Director in the absence of a Director of the Student Support Department. This role serves on a team coordinated by a School Counselor and supported by a School Psychologist who serves as a case supervisor.
General Responsibilities:

Support student growth and well-being through short-term counseling, group support, and health education grounded in adolescent development.

Collaborate with families, teachers, and external experts to assess student needs, recommend accommodations, and ensure coordinated care.

Lead programs and initiatives that promote academic success, emotional wellness, and student leadership.

Champion a healthy school culture by providing workshops, teaching classes, crisis support, and proactive mental health education for the whole community.
Required Competencies
-
Master’s degree in Clinical or Child and Adolescent Psychology

Professional counseling experience with adolescents

Fluent English

Ability to conduct research, collect and analyze data and write reports

Affinity for high-school age children

High ability to communicate well with parents and teachers

Ability and desire to be part of a team, with another school psychologist and with the other members of the department, as well as with students, parents, teachers and administrators

Experience with the variety of learning differences and needs within a high school setting

Flexibility and patience in a fast-paced, changing atmosphere
