Director of the Student Computer Innovation and Fabrication Institute (SCIFI)

Position Overview:
As Director of the ACS Student Computer Innovation and Fabrication Institute (SCIFI), you will be responsible for managing student projects, coordinating schedules, and instructing students on safe and creative usage of tools and technology, budget planning, and equipment maintenance. The learning environment is innovative and includes state of the art technologies, along with traditional work/woodshop facilities. This position enables professional creativity and a true impact to carry forward a program that challenges students to prepare for the future. Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree and/or proven experience working with tools, computer systems, and some form of CAD/CAM experience.
Hands-on experience with fabrication equipment such as laser cutters, CNC mills, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, thermoforming machines, sewing machines, and others.
Good oral and written communication in English and Bulgarian and excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Manage student projects and schedules for the Makerspace, perform general troubleshooting and maintenance of the equipment, and create procedures of use of equipment from the students.
Instruct students and staff on equipment use with emphasis on safety, programming, use of tools, 3D modeling, electronics, robotics, wood and metal fabrication, and video/photo creation.
Research and recommend the implementation of new equipment and software as appropriate.
Promote makerspace activities at the school and during external events.
