The Alumni Fund Advisory Committee Is Looking for a New Member

Below is the letter the Alumni Fund Advisory Committeee recently sent to all ACS alumni:

Dear ACS Alumni,

ACS is proud to claim a constantly growing base of over 1,800 committed alumni. After leaving the College, many of us pursue undergraduate and graduate studies in the finest educational institutions in Bulgaria and abroad. Many of us also retain a fond feeling for ACS and remain in close contact with former classmates and faculty.

It is encouraging to see an increasing number of alumni finding ways to give back to the College, regardless where in the world they happen to be. The successful launch of ACS Alumni Fund is a case in point - organized and run on a volunteer basis by ten ACS alumni representing six different classes spanning graduation years between 1998 and 2010. In 2012/2013, its first year in existence, the fund raised more than 33,000 BGN and achieved more than 9% participation rate by eligible ACS alumni, or 153 unique donors.

The Alumni Fund Advisory Committee (АFAC) is now looking to engage a new member to help improve its outreach and communications. AFAC serves as the voice and face of ACS graduates in developing the Fund. The Committee is dedicated to maintaining focus on the areas that are important to the alumni community, meeting and exceeding the high standards of accountability that come with donating time and money, and ultimately engaging as many fellow graduates as possible. The full list of its members and information about its structure can be found online at:
http://www.acs.bg/Home/Giving_to_the_College/About_the_Alumni_Fund.aspx

The new volunteer will join AFAC’s Donations & Outreach sub-committee and work on a strategy to further increase alumni participation and engagement. Ideally, the volunteer graduated from ACS in good standing and possesses strong school spirit. She or he is motivated by the opportunity to reconnect with and work alongside former classmates and schoolmates. Solid communication skills - in writing and in person, both in English and Bulgarian, are a must. We are looking for somebody comfortable with long-distance collaboration and able to join conference calls and meetings that sometimes take place on evenings and weekends. Our future member should be self-driven and can commit to an average of 8 hours per month. Having fundraising or marketing experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

If you have an interest in joining AFAC, please complete the following application and submit it to Nedko Kyuchukov at <nedko.kyuchukov@gmail.com> and Petia Ivanova at <p.mironova@acs.bg> by November 10, 2013. Candidates will be informed about next steps in the process following submission of their application.
