ACS Team MAL Inc. Oh snatched the second place at the Hack for Innovation Hackathon

Competing against older and more experienced contestants

Marathons, makeathons, hackathons… words we are certainly getting used to as these types of events are slowly but steadily evolving as a regular part of the ACS fiber. Last week our team MAL Inc. Oh, comprising of talented 9th and 11th graders and their teacher Radostina Chipanova from the Physical computing with Raspberry Pi elective , won the second place in the Hack for Innovation Hackathon, organized by Ocado Technology. Their tech savvy eyes turned towards the real word, in just 48 hours, team MAL Inc. Oh created a solution for taking care of pets in the absence of their humans.

What’s more, MAL Inc. Oh was the youngest team at the competition, among 20 crews composed predominantly of students at the Technical University in Sofia, the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Sofia University or actively employed software developers.

“I am very proud of our students Yoana Stankova, Antoni Milanov, Petar Draganov, Alexander Ivanov, Maxim Selveliev and Pamela Hristova," ACS Computer Science Teacher Radostina Chipanova said. We are as happy and as proud!
