2011 Last Bell Ceremony

On Friday, the 29th of April, this year’s seniors and juniors participated in the Last Bell Ceremony, a longstanding tradition at ACS.

The seniors this year were dressed in their best and walked proudly through the crowd of 11th graders who offered roses to the passing seniors. The procession began in Sanders Hall with pairs of seniors descending the front steps and walking around the ACS grounds to the Fountain. The sound of counting from 1 to 12 rang throughout the campus – even in German and Spanish! Students hugged each other and posed for pictures. There were plenty of smiles but also a few tears (of joy, no doubt, but also for the end of this chapter of life). Dr. Johnson praised the seniors for their outstanding achievements and invited them to enjoy the afternoon at the Fountain.
