The American College of Sofia Received an Award for Volunteering

On December 3, 2011, Special Olympics-Bulgaria organized a national initiative “Share the feeling” on the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities. The event was held under the patronage of Mrs. Tsacheva, Chair of the National Assembly, and included handing out of the ProSport prizes for development of volunteering in support of people with disabilities within the European year of volunteering 2011.

The American College of Sofia was awarded in the School category. President Dr. Paul Johnson and one of the volunteers, Velko Velkov, received the award from UNICEF Representative for Bulgaria, Ms Tania Radochay.

Special guests of the Parliament were Bulgarian representatives from Special Olympics World Games’ 2011 in Athens.
