Student Activities Fund 2017-2018

Dear students, 

The Student Activities Fund is ready to announce its  new funding round for extracurricular projects and activities in the 2017-2018 academic year. With the help of SAF, you are eligible to  receive grants of up to 500 BGN  to support your idea.

To apply for funding, please fill in the application form attached and sent it to us no later than December 3rd, 2017. If your application is approved, you will be able to present your idea in front of the SAF committee on December 8th, 2017. 

The SAF committee consists of parents, alumni, faculty, Student Council reps, the Dean of Students, and representatives of FiBank. It was founded by members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the Alumni Fund Advisory Committee (AFAC) at ACS. It is also receiving a generous donation by FiBank. In the last year, it supported 12 projects and activities with grants, amounting to a total of nearly 10 000 BGN.

The opportunity for funding is open to all student activities, clubs and athletic teams at ACS, as well as seniors pursuing independent honors projects. 

This year SAF is especially encouraging student applications related to:

1) Launching a sustainable platform for ACS students to do internships and job-shadowing, sustainably engaging parents and alumni, who can provide such oppurtunities in the proccess;

2) Launching a sustainable platform for ACS students to engage with disadvantaged Bulgarian students and do community service, sustainably engaging parents and alumni who can open access to schools and community centers, serving disadvantaged students;

3) Launching a sustainable platform for ACS students to develop life and career skills in general while interacting with parents and alumni. 
 

In addition, FiBank would be especially interested to support student projects related to: 

1) Promoting wider participation in sports and athletics (charity sports events, open tournaments, etc); 

2) Improving financial literacy among ACS students and students and young people in general.

Please have in mind that it is mandatory for project/activity advisors to be copied when students submit a project, as well as to attend the project/activity presentations on December 8th, if the application receives approval.
