Robert Gipson Awarded The Cyril And Methodius Medal
A great friend and generous donor of the American College of Sofia, Robert Gipson, was awarded the Cyril and Methodius medal by President Rossen Plevneliev. The prestigious honor was given "for his many years of charity work in support of Bulgarian education, science and culture."
Mr. Gipson and his wife Nellie, through their Tianaderrah Foundation, are giving the Polansky and Oberbauer scholarships to ACS students in financial need.
"The selfless and inspired work of Robert Gipson is a shining example of our abilities to do good. I sincerely believe that through its generous charity work this family has left in the lives of thousands of our compatriots a trace that will never fade," said the President.
The ceremony took place in the Presidency on September 1. ACS President Dr. Richard Ewing Jr. attended.
