PTA General Assembly
The annual general assembly of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the American College took place on Thursday, June 23. The agenda included a presentation of the annual activity report and the annual financial report of the PTA.
The reports highlighted the improved information and coordination activities of the PTA during this past year, as well as several new initiatives organized by the Association. One such initiative was the informal gathering of teachers and parents of all classes called “A Glass of Wine.” The PTA’s contribution to the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the American College was also acknowledged.
The general assembly also voted for new leadership of the PTA for the 2011-2012 academic school year. Georgi Todorov will be the PTA’s President for a second year in a row; also elected for a second term of office as Vice President was Yordan Yordanov. The new members include Kamelia Kushleva as Secretary of the PTA and Elena Chorbadjiska as PTA Treasurer. We wish the new representatives of the PTA good luck and a successful new year.
The PTA will have its first meeting with the parents of 8th-grade students on the 14th of September. The first gathering of the series “A Glass of Wine” will be during the ACS Open House Days in October. Please visit the ACS website for up-to-date information on PTA initiatives; for questions and comments, please contact the PTA at pta@acs.bg.
Our sincere thanks go to Dr. Johnson and Mrs. Maria Angelova for their continued support and contribution to the PTA. Thank you also to all the parents of current and former students at ACS who have joined the PTA initiatives and have contributed their time and efforts, helping to create wonderful and memorable events together.
The PTA wishes all students, parents, and teachers a wonderful summer!
See you in September!
