Prep Book Drive for the Win

On April 20, Alexander Shpatov, ACS alumnus of the Class of 2004, author, and founder of Сдружение за градски читални (City Reading-Rooms Society) challenged ACS eight graders to collect 50 children's books by April 30 for his nation-wide book drive Let's Collect 1000 Children Books for the Libraries in Bulgaria. How many did the most enthusiastic members of the ACS community, a k a the preps, manage to get, you think?

551, dear ladies and gentleman, the titles including classics, latest hits, anything the heart desires.

Today, Alex came to pick up the books and thank the eighth graders in person. The winning section 8/8, whose members had gathered no less than 181 books, got pizza by the grateful alum and avid reader, who was happy to share that more than 2500 have been collected in total within the country-wide drive.
