Petko Bocharov Turns 96

Petko Bocharov, an ACS alumnus from the Class of 1938 and a popular Bulgarian journalist and translator, celebrates today his 96th birthday. Happy Birthday, Mr. Bocharov!

Petko Bocharov was born on February 19, 1919 in Sofia. After graduating from the American College of Sofia, he studied law at the Sofia University. In 1952 he joined the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) as an English language translator. Later, he was promoted to deputy-chief editor. He retired in 1983 but he still works as a freelance journalist for different media. Petko Bocharov is the most elderly active journalist in Europe.
