Our Students Participate in the MUN Conference in Dublin
ACS participated in the 25th St. Andrew’s International Model United Nations (SAIMUN) Conference organized by one of the most prestigious Irish colleges St. Andrew’s in Dublin. This year there were 700 participants from all over the world.
For us it was the fourth participation at this forum, so we were allotted one of the most powerful countries nowadays - both politically and economically - Japan which we perceived as a great honor. The second ACS team was to present Cyprus.
Model United Nations is a great way for training the future political leaders of the world. The MUN conferences are simulations of UN discussions on current political, human, and ecological issues. The preparation for SAIMUN starts in early October due to the demands of St. Andrew’s College and continues until the end of March when the conference itself takes place. St. Andrew’s College hired a comfortable place, the Royal Marine Hotel, which has all the necessary accommodations for the event and is situated in a quiet part of the city near the yacht harbor. The atmosphere was very friendly and the Irish once again demonstrated their hospitability.
Thank you very much to Iskra Velinova and the school administration for their support.
