Ivan Ivanov Wins a John Atanasoff

Like John Atanasoff, Ivan Ivanov shares a love for math with physics and it leads to computers.

On October 4, President Rossen Plevneliev awarded Ivan the prestigious John Atanasoff prize.

As reported here, Ivan (11/3) has been winning awards and competitions throughout the year, and this has led to the presidential recognition in the "Students and their teachers" category for achievements in computer science.

Currently, Ivan and fellow math/physics wiz Milen Ferev (11/1) are in the advanced stages of developing their project for researching parallel meta-heuristic algorithms. Sounds like something you want to dive into? Great - because the hardware for the two algorithms they are working on is already functional, and their team is looking for collaborators with their own projects in this Internet-of-Things endeavor.

Watch this space for further details, and please shake Ivan's hand when you see him in the hallway.
