Ivan Ivanov and Milen Ferev Shatter Cyber Security Competition
The cyber dynamic duo (we're sure CDD is a legit term) of Ivan Ivanov and Milen Ferev was part of the winning team at the Cyber Games: Warm-Up. This year's edition of the information security contest took place on November 10.
ACS seniors Ivan and Milen were part of the SHAttered team which included Stefan Genchev from the German Language High School and Ivan Nikolov from the National Gymnasium of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The team was tutored by Konstantin Delchev from the Student Institute of Mathematics and Informatics.
The youngest team in the competition, SHAttered defeated university students, PhD candidates, and cyber security professionals. The problems the players had to solve in real time included network traffic analysis, cryptography, reverse engineering, analyzing virtual machines for malware, etc. The Cyber Games are organized by the European Software Institute – Central and Eastern Europe and the Defense Institute "Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov."
