Hristo Papazov Wins IMO Bronze

ACS math wiz Hristo Papazov received a bronze medal at the 2016 International Mathematical Olympiad. As they say, no rest for the wicked – or, in this case, no vacation for the brilliant.

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the world championship mathematics competition for high school students and, beginning in 1959, is held annually in a different country. The latest installment took place this week in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, with prizes set to be awarded tomorrow, July 16.

What makes the accomplishment even more impressive is that all six members of the Bulgarian team won medals. Congratulations to the team and their mentors, one of which is ACS math teacher Emil Kolev!
