Gold Medal for ACS Pianist
Svetlozar Dimitrov Won the National Orion Piano Competition
ACS eleventh grader Svetlozar Dimitrov won first place and a gold medal in his age group, up to 18 years, at the Third National Orion Piano Competition, which took place on December 9 this year in the Pancho Vladigerov House Museum in Sofia. Svetlozar, who is the president of the ACS Instrumental Studio with advisor Ms. Vodenicharova, performed Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovski’s The Seasons: October and Prelude by Dimitar Nenov. The jury of the competition, chaired by Prof. Dr. Borislava Taneva of the National Music Academy (NMA), included also associate professor Dr. Margarita Ilieva (NMA), assistant professor Ralitsa Dimitrova (Sofia University), and jazz pianist Dimitar Gorchakov.
