Congratulations to the ACS Debate Club!
Storms Pass, but Hard Work Stays
Amidst and after the excitement around the Class of 2025, let's celebrate more and continue honoring our school achievements.
On May 24th and 25th, the prestigious international debate competition KCL Pre-EUDC took place, in which teams from elite universities from all over the world participated, including Oxford, Imperial College, King's College of London, and many other institutions.
The ACS Debate Club represented our school with three of our teams, consisting of ninth graders Alexandra Tosheva and Sava Popov, eighth graders Diana Harizanova and Kalina Kambitova, and ninth graders Svetozar Vassilev and Thomas Nastev. Under the guidance of their dedicated mentors, members of the national team, and Debate Club presidents – 10th graders Ilina Pashkunova and Simeon Petrinin – our debaters faced five highly competitive rounds on complex topics.
We’re thrilled to share that two of our teams (Alexandra and Sava, Svetozar and Thomas) made it to the Novice Finals and represented us honorably! This is a remarkable achievement that reflects their hard work and teamwork. In the end, Thomas and Svetozar nearly snatched the win, falling one vote short from winning the Novice Final.
Congratulations to all our debaters and their mentors for representing ACS with such excellence on the international stage!
