ACS Success at the Spring Youth Bridge Camp 2024

Congratulations to the members of ACS Sports Bridge Club who participated in and were very successful at the Spring Youth Bridge Camp organized by the Bulgarian Bridge Federation. The tournament took place between March 1 and March 4 in Mineralni Bani, near Haskovo, and included two competitions in pairs (IMPs and Matchpoints), and a teams tournament.
In the Novice category of the IMPs competition, all places from 2nd to 7th were taken by ACS pairs. Second place was awarded to Matey Pavlov 9/5 and Dimitar Trushev 9/4, while Alexandra Zlateva 9/3 and David Kiradzhibashyan 9/5 ranked third.
In the Novice Matchpoint tournament, first place was awarded to Anna Rashkova 9/7 and Emma Petkova 10/3. Second place was once again won by Matey Pavlov 9/5 and Dimitar Trushev 9/4, and Nadezhda Tihova 9/4 and Aleksandra Stoycheva 9/2 came in third.
In the Advanced category Matilda Lorer 10/8 partnered up with Boris Mihov (a senior student from Sofia Math School) to win first place of the Matchpoints competition. Matilda and Boris teamed up with two seniors from the National Natural Sciences and Mathematics School for the Teams Tournament and ranked first overall.
Additionally the following ACS students were recognized for their performance throughout all rounds of the tournament:
Second place - Girls (up to 15 years) - Katrin Cholakova 8/2 and Aleksandra Hadzhiivanova 8/2
Third place - Boys (up to 15 years) - Simeon Tsanovski 9/9 and Nikolay Ilchev 9/7
First place - Girls (up to 20 years) - Matilda Lorer 10/8
Third place - Girls (up to 20 years) - Emma Petkova 10/3 and Anna Rashkova 9/7
Congratulations to all participants and especially to ACS Sports Bridge Club President Matilda Lorer, who has been a fantastic Bridge teacher and coach to the other students!
