Athletic Achievements
Competing against student athletes many of whom train at professional clubs' facilities, the ACS teams scored high at the Sofia Student Athletics Competition.
Our boys’ team won 2nd place among 16 teams with a total score of 79 points. In the individual competitions, the boys won 2 gold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
The winner in the long jump is Kiril Krantchev 10/1 with his personal best result of 6.01 m. The other gold medal is for the 4x100 m relay race, where Victor Braykov 10/2, Kristiyan Kokinov 10/6, Vladimir Turkedjiev 10/4 and Kiril Krantchev gave no quarter to their competitors, and won witha result of 48.08 sec.
For a second year in a row Kristian Kokinov is a 400 m silver medalist with a result of 56.20 sec. Bronze medalist in the 800 m race is Georgi Zdravkov 9/10.
The other members of the team – Yasen Guberov 10/2 (5th at shot put and 11th at high jump), Veselin Nedelchev 9/5 (8th at 800 m) and Kaloyan Danovski 10/6 – also contributed to the team’s second place.
The girls’ team finished in 7th place among 11 teams. Viktoria Petrova 10/2 won 4th place in the long jump competition, only 12 cm short of the bronze.
The girls’ relay race team finished in 4th place, as well. Nia Dobreva 9/4, Hale-Seda Radoykova 9/8, Eva Sapunova 9/10, Marta Koleva 10/3, Borislava Nikolova 9/10, Lora Dimitrova 9/6 and Emilia Nemsky 9/5 also did their best for the team’s success and collected 34 points.
Vesselina Tepeshanova and Borislav Dimitrov
