Asen Filkov – Shotokan Karate Do World Champion

Asen Filkov, an ACS senior, took part and ranked first in the World Shotokan Karate Do Championship.

The tournament took place in Burgas on July 20 and 21 with the participation of teams from Bulgaria, Russia, Poland, Turkey, Macedonia, India, Ireland, Hungary, Romania, Latvia, Scotland, Georgia, Syria, Spain, Italy, Japan and Denmark.

Asen competed in the age group 17-18 years. He became World Champion in Kumite individually (one of the three main sections in karate), and also won second place with his team.
