ACS Seniors Participate in a Youth Conference Hosted by Mariya Gabriel

Congratulations to Velislav Valglev, Zahari Pavlov and Sara Behar!

Yesterday, ACS seniors Velislav Vaglev, Zahari Pavlov, and Sara Behar participated in the conference “Young People and Bulgaria's Foreign Policy Strategy: a Critical Voice". ACS President Emily Sargent Beasley also attended the forum that took place in the House of Europe and was hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel. Students from various universities, youth delegates to the UN, as well as representatives of various youth organizations took part in the conference, some of them as panelists and some as actively involved audience. Among the panelists were Velislav and Zahari, as well as ACS graduate Kosta Karakashyan '14, youth delegate to the UN.

The young people engaged in a discussion that focused on untangling the priorities inherent in Bulgaria and how these priorities fit not only in the local but also in the international context. They touched upon the country's foreign policy priorities and other key topics such as the green transition, digitalization, new trends in energy, economic and cultural diplomacy, Bulgaria's active membership in the EU and NATO, and care for Bulgarians abroad.
