ACS Musical Wins Romanian Festival

The ACS Musical performance Fame Jr. won the Artistic Performance Award and the Audience Award at the STAGE International Youth Festival in Cluj Napoca, Romania.

 

STAGE is recognized as "Remarkable Festival" by EFFE (Europe for Festivals. Festivals for Europe.) Association and awarded EFFE Label 2017-2018.

 

At this year's edition, 22 groups from 6 countries performed from September 18 to September 24. The Festival Jury consisted of Prof. Radu Tulescu (playwright, director and critic), Jury President, Ioan-Pavel Azap (film and theatre critic), and Prof. Ionica Pop (composer and director) from Gheorghe Dima Academy of Music.

 

The ACS production was one of only 3 – the others being from Romania and Israel – to win 2 awards.

 

Congratulations to our student artists and their supervisors Boris Pankin, Nancy Smith and Kristian Popov who took them on the 1500 km journey to STAGE. You make us proud!

 

We can't wait to see the delight that will be this year's musical Singin' in the Rain.
