ACS Classical Concert
The Fifth Annual ACS Classical Concert took place on March 24th. More than 30 students from grades 8 to 12 participated in this wonderful event.
The audience heard solo performances, duets, and ensembles performed by our Instrumental Studio members. The ACS Choir, as well as choir soloists, took part in the concert. The students performed pieces from different epochs of classical music.
Those who attended the concert enjoyed the incredible musical talent of our students. The concert began with a couple of solo piano pieces performed by Christina Tancheva and Christo Lolov, followed by a baritone solo performance by Iliya Daskalov. Next we heard several more piano pieces performed by Christina Tancheva and Simona Zahova, Velin Radev accompanied by Ms. Tsolova, and Yana Stoyanova. Ivan Yotzov then played an up-beat tune on his alto saxophone. Next, Liliya Tivhceva played a piano piece accompanied by Ms. Tsolova, followed by Elena Anatchkova also on the piano. Albena Bogoeva was up next, singing a mezzo soprano tune. The last two solo performers were Ivan Tsenov on the piano and Ivan Yotzov on the alto saxophone.
Following the tradition from previous years, guest-musicians from the National Music School in Sofia performed next: Nadejda Tsvetkov - violin, Sarah Teofilova - violin, and Magdalena Daltcheva - cello. This was such a treat as they played so beautifully.
The ACS Choir was the final act of the evening, performing two songs that surprised many with the amazing sound from a small group that simply filled the room!
This event gave students with a profound interest in classical music the opportunity to display their talents. These students attend music classes at ACS, as well as outside of the school.
All proceeds from this concert will go to charity.
