We Care Club and ACS Collected 183 Gifts for Children's Homes

Among the numerous Christmas initiatives at ACS was the Merry Box-mas campaign organized by We Care club, whose aim was to collect and distribute Christmas gifts to 3-7 year old children deprived from parental care. Through the generous donations of ACS students, teachers and administrators, and with the kind support of parents and PTA members, the students from We Care club delivered presents to the following places:

- 37 boxes to Drugarche Children’s Home in Varna
- 26 boxes to Hisarlaka in Kyustendil
- 30 boxes to Nadezhda Children’s Home in Gurkovo
- 16 boxes to St. Ivan Rilski Children’s Home in Sofia
- 11 boxes to Nadezhda Children’s Home in Sofia
- 26 boxes to Yuri Gagarin Children’s Home in Yambol
- 15 boxes to temporary children’s home in Devin
- 22 boxes to Slantse Children’s Home in Kaspichan

The staggering number of 183 gifts was nothing compared to the love and affection that the kids felt on Christmas Eve. The initiative brought lots of joy to the little children and tears to the eyes of the adults. It was one of those generous campaigns that made the Christmas spirit stronger on campus and among those who needed it most.

Below are excerpts from thank-you letters from different children’s homes which made the club members even more eager to come up with new initiatives that will bring joy to the kids.

T. Krasteva, director of Drugarche  Children’s Home, Varna wrote:

“On behalf of Drugarche Children’s Home, Varna, I would like to extend my warmest gratitude to the ACS students, teachers, and administrators for the wonderful initiative to bring joy to the children at the start of the Christmas Season. Prepared with lots of love, your gifts of toys, toiletries, educational materials and sweets made our kids feel happy and special”.

A. Ivanova, director of St. Ivan Rilski Children’s Home wrote:

“On behalf of the administration and especially the children at St. Ivan Rilski Children’s Home, I would like to extend my warmest gratitude for the wonderful gifts[….]. On the eve of the brightest Christian holidays, we thank you sincerely and wish you lots of health and the best of success!”
