TEDxYouth@ACSofia

On April 23 ACS hosted the first TEDxYouth conference organized by our students. The event was made possible through the support of Paradise Center, Princess Gold, Mat Star and FADI I MAT.

Five amazing lecturers shared stories inspired by the theme “The Life Beyond Academics.” Martin Srebrov talked about the important role of “the lone dancer” – the one who is bold enough to take the road not taken.   Boriana Varadzhakova reminded us to never stop asking questions and demanding the best from our teachers. Borislav Stefanov shared plenty of fun stories tracking his way to a leadership position in the corporate world, suggesting that every experience, no matter how insignificant it may seem, holds a special place in the bigger picture of life. Dena Popova moved us with a beautiful speech about approaching the other with compassion, and urged the audience to visit the Refugee camps in Bulgaria. The closing lecture was given by Dimitar Karamnchev, who talked about the hidden reserves of our mind and gave us a piece of advice: “dance when you want to move, sing when you want to talk, and draw when you want to write. “

Kosta Karakashyan ’14 and Vyara Klisurska presented a gorgeous series of dances, and the MC Ivan Vensan turned out to be a magician!

We thank the 10th grader Mazen Meziad, his project adviser Elka Dacheva, and all volunteers for their hard work, and cannot wait for the next edition of TEDxYouth@ACSofia.
