ACS Success at the Sofia Cup Swimming Tournament

In December 2023, for the first time in the school's recent history, ACS participated in a swimming competition. The twelfth Sofia Cup Swimming Tournament was held December 6-8 at the Madara swimming pool. Students from 18 schools in Sofia in five age groups - Grade 1-2, Grade 3-4, Grade 5-7, Grade 8-10th, and Grade 11-12 -  took part in the competition. ACSers Samuil Petrov (Grade 8), Mariana Shalamanova (Grade 10), Valentin Petkov (Grade 11), Ioana Karlova (Grade 12), and Alexander Georgiev (Grade 11) performed exceptionally. Mariana secured an impressive first place in the 50 m freestyle and claimed the second place in the 50 m butterfly. The other ACS medalist, Alexander Georgiev, secured a well-deserved victory in the 50 m backstroke. In the final team rankings for girls Grade 8-19, ACS ranked sixth.

Congratulations to the five ACS swimmers for their dedicated efforts and impressive performance and to sports teacher Emilia Stefanova for her leadership and support.
