Student Activities Fund: Spring 2025
Overview
Now in its 11th year, Student Activities Fund (SAF) continues to bring ACS students’ innovative ideas to life. The SAF live-pitch session, held on February 26 in the Concert Hall, showcased 15 inspiring student projects. These initiatives span academic, artistic, and community-oriented goals, benefiting both ACS and the broader community.
The SAF, established in 2014 by alumni and parents, provides financial support (up to 650 leva per project), guidance, and mentoring throughout the project lifecycle. Its mission is to encourage students to pursue their passions beyond the classroom while fostering a supportive network of alumni, parents, and faculty. By contributing to SAF, donors empower student-led projects that enrich the ACS experience and extend its impact beyond campus.
This year’s lineup included both returning favorites and exciting new proposals:
- Returning Projects: ACS Model UN Conference 5.0, FISSION 10.0, TEDxYouth@ACSofia 2025, FIRST Robotics Competition, Debate Scholarships for International Competitions, ACS Open in Debates
- New Additions: Green Conference, One Step Ahead, Sofia Talks Health, Inspire the Youth talk series, Sports Bridge initiative, ACS Charity Art Exhibition, Tech Fair
The SAF committee has since reviewed applications and notified teams about funding decisions and any conditions for approval. Some of the approved projects, like the ACS Open in Debates, the One Step Ahead Internship Fair, and the Sofia Talks Health event already took place this spring.
A heartfelt thank you to the presenting teams, their faculty sponsors, the generous donors, and the dedicated committee of parents and educators who make this initiative possible.
