Spring Season in Sciences

Although one could not tell from the weather outside, spring is in bloom. So it is time to enumerate our students' accomplishments at the season's Olympiads and national competitions:

Ivana Andreeva 12/4 honorably represented ACS at the Chemistry Olympiad and even more honorably at the national tournament: in it, she finished fifth out of 87 participants and earned a spot on the Sofia Team which won a silver medal at the national level. Her project (with Camelia Drenkova 12/4) Synthesis of Acetylsalicylic Acid and Different Methods of Filtration won golden ribbon at the Vienna International Science and Engineering Fair for high schools.

At the Vienna fair, the project by Venezia Georgieva 12/5 and Nikita Ovsiannikov 12/3 At an Arm’s Reach won best project in the Senior Engineering and Technology category.

Antony Kirilov 12/7 and Ivan Ganev 11/5 won second prize at the Spring National Physics Competition – out of 350 participants! Hristo Papazov 11/2 and Boris Ananiev 10/4 won third prize. This weekend Boris Ananiev will be competing in the Astronomy Olympiad. We wish him the best of luck!
