My Financial Advisory Class
The two-part workshop “My Financial Class Advisory” series was held on March 19 and 26 at the American College of Sofia. It was organized in collaboration with Junior Achievement Bulgaria, Creditland financial consultants, and the Moite Pari financial education portal and provided ACS students with the opportunity to gain practical financial knowledge. The initiative was made possible through the efforts of the Inspire the Youth initiative, in partnership with the Touch My Heart Club and the Business Club at ACS, whose commitment to real-world learning continues to enrich the ACS experience.
Special thanks to Alexander Arabadjiev and Vladislav Skrinsky, the leaders of the initiative, as well as to the person behind it all - ACS Economics Teacher and alumnus, Stanislav Maleshkov. We also want to extend our gratitude to Ms. Radka Gencheva, without whom this project wouldn’t have been as successful as it was.
The sessions introduced participants to essential financial concepts such as sources of income, personal budgeting, social security systems, savings and investment strategies, and responsible credit use. Through interactive activities—most notably the engaging “My First Car” budgeting simulation—students were encouraged to apply critical thinking to real-life scenarios, fostering confidence and financial awareness.
A special highlight of the event was the presence of Ms. Milena Stoycheva, Executive Director of Junior Achievement and former Minister of Innovation and Growth (2023–2024), who joined as a guest speaker in the second session. Her words served as a powerful reminder of the importance of innovation, self-leadership, and youth empowerment in shaping the future.
At ACS, we believe that education extends beyond academics. This event exemplifies our commitment to equipping students with the tools, mindset, and values necessary for navigating life beyond the classroom. We commend all students who attended for taking initiative in their learning and growth, and we applaud the student leaders and faculty organizers who brought this meaningful experience to life.
We look forward to more opportunities like this that challenge, inspire, and prepare our students for the world ahead.
