Math Success

The Spring Math Competition took place from March 27 to March 29 in Bourgas (for Grades 4-8) and Varna (for Grades 9-12). As it serves as a stage for the selection of the national Balkan Math Olympiad and Junior Balkan Math Olympiad teams, this is one of the most important and serious competitions and involves all strong contestants from math schools.

In Grade 8, Yoana Nikolova won the First Place with a perfect score; Zlatomir Papazov got the fifth best result and Simona Barokova won the eighth best result. The 8th Grade team ranked fourth, managing to defeat all math high schools except Sofia Math High School, Foreign Private Math Gymnasium and High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Bourgas.

In Grade 9, Ivan Ivanov won a First Award.

In Grade 10, Ivan Ganev and Hristo Papazov won First Awards. In addition, Ivan Ganev made the qualifiers for the selection of the Bulgarian Balkan Math Olympiad team and for the Team of Bulgaria for the All-Russian Olympiad. The results of Ivan at these barrages provided him with a place in the Team of Bulgaria for the All-Russian Olympiad.

In Grade 11, Nedyalko Bradinov won a Second Award.

In Grade 12, Radostina Kalaydzhieva won a Second Award.

Another important competition - the National Round of Mathematical Linguistics Olympiad - was held during the Spring vacation, on April 2-3. Our representative - Valentina Mihaylova (12/1) performed excellently and took the fourh place in the age group of 12th Graders. Great job, Valentina!
