Kristabel Konta's Winning Essay on "Plants of Tomorrow"

 

Biology teacher Ganka Dineva introduced us to the STARBIOS2 and Horison 2020 programs of the European Union which aim to popularize Biotechnologies among the young generation.

One of the events associated with these programs was the National Essay Competition in the field of Biotechnology "Plants of Tomorrow". 

 
Among the ACS students who participated was 10th grader Kristabel Konta. Miss Dineva wrote, "I am delighted to share the great news that Kristabel Konta has won the First Prize in the age group of 15 to 19 years old in a competition among 120 participants from around the country. Congratulations to Kristabel on her award!"
 
The winner received her citation on May 3 as part of BioFest, a tradition of Sofia University's Biology Department.
