Graduation Ceremony of the ACS Class of 2015
This year’s Graduation Ceremony marked a very special moment not just for the ACS Class of 2015, but also for the ACS President Dr. Paul K. Johnson. Five years ago both the graduating Class of 2015 and Dr. Johnson arrived on campus for the first time. In a moving speech Dr. Johnson reflected on the joyful experience of watching the students grow into responsible and inspiring adults, and congratulated them on the respect they had always demonstrated for each other’s achievements.
Following Dr. Johnson, Dr. Roger Whitaker, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Ms. Tammy Paltchikov, Educational and Cultural Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria addressed the audience. Mr. Vassil Terziev, Chief Innovation Officer at Progress honored the Graduating Class of 2015 by delivering the commencement speech.
By tradition, the special awards were given to the most deserving seniors. Alexandra Draganova received the Irwin T. Sanders Award for Service. The Margaret R. Sanders Award for Student Life went to Lora Beltcheva. Yoana Petrova and Stefan Patsov were awarded the Floyd Black Award for their hard work, responsibility and love for learning. As the student with the highest cumulative grade point average for grades 9 to 12, Adelina Ivanova received the Valedictorian Award.
