An ACS Eighth Grader To Represent Bulgaria on the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad
The final qualification round of the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO) for students up to 15 years of age took place on May 13. ACS eighth grader Hristo Papazov not only qualified to join the representative team of the country but also became first after the final round leaving behind students coming from math schools all over Bulgaria.
The JBMO itself will take place in Antalya, Turkey in the period June 21-27. 21 teams from 20 countries, including non-Balkan such - despite the Balkan reference in the name of the tournament - like USA, Indonesia, and the Philippines will participate in the Olympiad.
