ACS Students Participate in Srednogorski Taten Festival
Students from the Teach for Bulgaria activity at ACS were invited to participate in the first Srednogorski Taten Festival. The festival is organized by Teach for Bulgaria teachers: it aims at bringing together modern pop-culture and education, in an attempt to expand the horizons of the local community, especially of the young people from Zlatitsa, Pirdop, Chelopech, Mirkovo and Chavdar.
Students from different schools, located mainly in Sofia, demonstrated different extracurricular activities. They were joined by curious students from local schools and their parents.
The ACS students had key roles during the event in Zlatica on April 26. They were invited to design workshops, coach local students, and demonstrate the extracurricular activities of the ACS Art Club and the ACS Soap-Making Club. As a part of a joint project between ACS and the Agro-Technical Professional High School in Zlatica, our students exhibited posters on community problem-solving.
Two seniors made a presentation on opportunities for applying to universities outside Bulgaria and took questions from the audience. Teachers and representatives of Teach for Bulgaria highly appreciated our students’ participation and invited us to the next edition of the festival.
