ACS Martenitsi Workshop

Fed up with winter and cold already?
An event that took place on February 16 after classes brought us a little closer to the end of winter and the eagerly awaited spring arrival. Students from the Arts Club and the Aubergine Jewelry Making Project together with our guest Ms Tania Ivanova, took part in an excitig Martenitsi Workshop. 

Tania Ivanova is a journalist from Stara Zagora, a master of martenitsi and handicrafts. She has had several exhibitions and her martenitsi are a part of the ethnographic exhibition of the Regional Historical Museum in Stara Zagora. She was our guest thanks to an invitation from ACS Geography teacher Dimitar Zhelev who organized this year’s Martenitsi Workshop together with Ms Nia Decheva, the Arts Club adviser.

The students made some lovely martenitsi with great pleasure – some of them traditional, some absolutely “innovative”. You can see captured moments of their work in the Photo Gallery on our website.
