ACS Seniors Excel Once Again in Bulgarian State Matura Exams

July 6, 2026 --- We are proud to celebrate another exceptional achievement by our most recent graduates, the Class of 2026, whose outstanding performance in the Bulgarian State Matura Exams once again places the American College of Sofia among the country's top-performing schools.

On the Bulgarian Language and Literature Matura, ACS students achieved an impressive average grade of 5.64, equivalent to 87.43 points, significantly surpassing both the Sofia average (67.21 points) and the national average (59.99 points). Thirty-two students earned a perfect score, while 127 students achieved grades of 5.50 or higher.

In the words of the Head of the Bulgarian Language and Literature Department, Dr. Teodora Todorova, "Behind the success of our students are consistent effort, strong teamwork, and a shared belief that our students can always achieve more."

The Class of 2026 also excelled in the English Language Matura. The average ACS grade was 5.70 (88.66 points), compared with 73.46 points for Sofia and 72.36 points nationally. Fifteen students received a perfect score, while 107 students earned grades of 5.50 or higher.

This year's Mathematics Matura results were equally remarkable. Thirty-nine ACS seniors chose Mathematics as their second profile subject, achieving an average grade of 5.64 (88.06 points), far exceeding the Sofia average (82.48 points) and the national average (77.76 points). Twelve students earned a perfect score, while 30 students scored 5.50 or above.

Reflecting on this year's exceptional results, Nadezhda Konstantinova, Head of the ACS Mathematics Department, shared:
