Spring School 2025
From March 31 to April 4. Registration will be open on February 5, 2025
At ACS’s Spring School, for children aged 6–14 years old, we focus on using English through a variety of fun, interesting and practical activities. This year, we are focusing all our Spring School activities on a central theme: adventure! Children can become explorers on the green and beautiful grounds of the College campus, learn new skills from our dedicated and accomplished teachers, and socialise with new friends whilst immersed in an English-only environment.
Children are grouped according to their age. No matter what their level of English is, there is always something new and useful to learn.
From 9:30am until 4:30pm, children will have the benefit of the wonderful learning facilities at ACS, the safety of having a medical team available at all times, a nutritious lunch provided by the College, as well as a piece of fruit in the morning and an afternoon snack before they go home each day. Every activity is overseen by a team of teachers who will use the English language to engage students in a variety of subjects which they are truly passionate about, from art and music to sports and science.
Activities will fall into two categories: classroom-based activities with a more academic focus, and physical-based activities that focus more on movement.
- ‘Academic’ activities mostly take place inside our classrooms and focus on developing skills such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, politeness, sharing and collaboration.
- ‘Movement’ activities take place outside (weather allowing) or in our sports hall and focus on developing skills such as discipline, teamwork, respect and sportsmanship, and spatial awareness.
Examples of activities that you can expect to be included in Spring School 2025:
- Structured games and physical activities outside in the fresh air, in the park on campus.
- Team sports guided by experienced athletes in which children can train to become explorers, superheroes, or astronauts!
- Our team of culturally and linguistically diverse teachers will engage children in research projects in which they can discover and share their passions — perhaps they love history and want to learn about real-life pirates and explorers, they could be a lover of technology ready to build a spaceship, maybe they are scientists at heart and will go on to make groundbreaking discoveries!
- Art in whichever form speaks to your child: they could create fantastical worlds filled with adventure stories with the help of our English teachers, prepare to slay dragons with the careful guidance of a martial arts master, or write and film the next hit action-adventure movie with a professional composer and media expert.
