US Urban Artistry visit ACS

Two members of the US b-boy artist group Urban Artistry gave a very special performance for the ACS community on February 25th.

The presentation was related to Black History Month as celebrated in the United States in February. Junious “House” Brickhouse and Russel “Ironman” Campbell were in Bulgaria to talk about the influence of African-Americans on dance in the US. In the packed Whitaker Auditorium during a very special Thursday lunch break, these b-boys demonstrated some fantastic dancing skills, while delivering a message celebrating diversity through urban arts. The guests talked to students about the need to have integrity and to work hard to achieve their goals. The Bulgarian b-boys Sleepwalkingz Crew (one of their members, Boyan Pehlivanov, is an ACS alumnus of the Class of 2002) were invited to the scene for a joint American-Bulgarian b-boy demonstration that was greatly enjoyed and loudly applauded by the ACS audience.
