The Black Cup Competition
Throughout the academic year the eight blocks participate in the Black Cup Competition. Students take part in sport competitions, writing contests, chess tournaments, charity events and many other activities. Based on their accomplishments in these activities, students accumulate points for their block. The block with the most points at the end of the year wins the Black Cup. The cup is named after Dr. Floyd H. Black, the president of the American College of Sofia from 1926 to 1942. The cup was donated by the Tsolovi family on September 15, 2008, and that was the year the competition began.
